EXECUTIVE TEAM

Hey! This page is currently being updated. If you would like to know any information about our exec, please feel free to email us, or you can find other contact methods here.

 Meet the 2020/21 Exec!

Picture

President - Jack Moore

Jack is our President, leading the rest of the exec. Not only does she stand as the figurehead of the club, but he also represents the club in all SU matters, and is the Chairman to both BSAC and BOA. He is also one of the assistant instructors for SCUBA, diving so he'll likely teach you if you take on one of our awesome courses.

Jack: "Hey! I’m a fourth year Engineering student and your President for the coming year. I joined WUSAC and began diving during my first term at Warwick and I feel I would really be lost without it – which is why I joined the exec team, so I could give back to the society and help to support the people that had introduced me to this new and exciting sport. WUSAC is an awesome club to be involved with, where you’ll meet many wonderful people and make great friends – I hope you’ll join us if you haven’t already and I look forward to meeting you!"

Secretary - Joni MacDonald

Picture
The Secretary manages correspondence with BSAC, be that renewing membership or sorting out new members, alongside organising exec meetings, producing meeting minutes and dealing with all the paperwork that the SU throws at us. Basically, she's around to do what she can to make our club run as smoothly as possible!

Joni : "Hi everyone! I'm Joni - a first year Biological Science student and push player with WUSAC. I do dive - but not with the club currently, so I'm mainly involved with push. I can't decide between competing at Ladies Nationals or the club Christmas dinner that we held as one of my favourite memories!"

Treasurer - Rebecca Fisher

Rebecca looks after WUSAC's financial aspect - any money related decision goes through her at least twice, and she keeps WUSAC afloat, at least financially!

Rebecca: "Hey! I'm Rebecca, a first year Biomedical Sciences student and WUSAC's treasurer. I play push and I finished my Ocean Diver this year - and one of my favourite WUSAC memories is watching the sunset in Cornwall on the diving trip. Before WUSAC, I was a competitive swimmer for 10 years - and even made it to the Olympic trials in 2016. I'm looking forward to the dive trips Will is organising this year, and playing even more push!"

Email:

Training Officer - could this be you?

The training officer is in charge of the Scuba training that goes on in the club. Whether you are a new Ocean Diver, or a seasoned veteran looking to finish up Dive Leader is looking after you, and for the second year in a row!

We'll be recruiting for a new training officer soon so keep your eyes out!

Ollie is in charge of all of our diving kit at WUSAC - and there is a lot of it! Whether kit needs maintenance, purchasing or if a member wants to hire something, Ollie is the go-to guy!

Ollie: "Hey guys! I’m Ollie, a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student. This is my 3rd year on the WUSAC Exec, with my previous roles being Equipment Officer, Expeditions Officer and Diving Officer. I have been diving for 12 years and currently have a Sports Diver level qualification. I am looking forward to working closely with fellow divers and other exec members to make your diving experience as good as it could be"

Social Secretary - Annabel Munday

Publicity Officer - Meredith Whiting

Meredith is currently acting Publicity Officer - she has been doing such great work with the club we just couldn't let her go! Most of what you see here is maintained by her and, whether she is adding more content to this site, editing promotional features, making cool videos or updating old information - Meredith has it mastered. She also handles much of our social media accounts: find us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram!

Meredith: "Hi all! I'm Meredith, a fourth year GSD and Sociology student who's currently standing in as publicity officer for the club. I've been with WUSAC since my first year, getting my Ocean Diver qualification, although I've played push all four years. I'm looking forward to helping out on social media and with the website, so I'll be answering all your questions through facebook, twitter, and instagram!"

Diving Expeditions Officer - Will Tremelling

As Expeditions Officer, Will is in charge of organising dive trips for the club’s members. He is in charge of planning the annual trip to Farnes, as well as the summer trip, liaising with other divers to determine the ideal location and time to plan a trip to be remembered! Alongside this, he will work with the Training Officer to assist with planning the qualifying dives for the Ocean Divers, as well as any further dives for the Sports Divers and other qualified WUSAC members.

Will: "Hi! I'm Will, a first year economics student and the Expeditions Officer here at WUSAC. I am a diver with the club, and have just passed my sports diver theory (on my third attempt after going to circle the night before!). I'm most looking forward to being able to go to Farnes now I'm able to use a dry suit so I can swim with seals - and organising the other trips that our club will take. Finally - one fun fact about me is that I was once marked as a missing person in a high stakes game of hide and seek!"

Club Development Officer - Nick Cherryman

In WUSAC's newest role, Nick is taking on Club Developent Officer - to oversee and help the club across the university and community. From organising and working with charities, to getting in contact with clubs at Warwick, the CDO will be there to help out and further the development of WUSAC. If you are interested in getting involved with the club in some way - whether another society or from the community, please contact Nick!

Nick: "I'm a first year PhD Sociology student here, and I both dive and play push. Some of my favourite memories with WUSAC involve diving with seals in the Farnes Islands on one of the club trips there. Something that people don't know about me is that I wrote the english lyrics to one of the Hungarian entries to Eurovision. Finally, I'm most looking forward to building a more community-focused club for the campus and raising money for our local charities!"
